Casale Favilluta is located in the heart of Umbria nearby Assisi in the midst of a lush vegetation of rolling hills. Going back to an ancient dovecote from 1667, the transformations of the property have followed the history of Umbria. Today the Casale remains a mark of the beauty and quality of life of this region, presenting itself to those who chose to spend here moments of relaxation, contact with nature, and visits to antique towns.
Kissed by the sun and protected by Mount Subasio which forms its back, Casale Favilluta lies between the medieval castle of Sterpeto and the ancient suburb of Assisi, Palazzo.
Olive trees and vines create a natural garden surrounding the property as well as a panorama of rare beauty overlooking the entire valley that stretches from Santa Maria degli Angeli to Perugia.
A careful restoration has transformed the old building into a country home, which preserves the stone structure and the old rooms with large fireplaces and vaulted ceilings and the possibility of housing 2-5 people in addition to an independent suite in the place of an old pig stall. Other than its independent location, the suite distinguishes itself by its special furnishings, including a fireplace, leather sofa, plasma TVs in living room and bedroom, a double bath with Jacuzzi, and separate shower. Champaign and an open bar offer a pleasant surprise.
The interior design, inspired by simplicity as well as the typical local flavor, will always serve your comfort. In the pretty garden, which overlooks a wide area of olive trees, one can take breakfast or enjoy unforgettable moments underneath the stars.
The surrounding hills are criscrossed by footpaths, which invite the visitor to take long hikes or exciting mountain bike tours through a fauna and flora of incomparable beauty.
Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spello, Todi, Spoleto and many other medieval cities and towns are located nearby and invite to interesting day trips to masterpieces of art. Umbria is not only the land of saints but also of good life. Indeed, it is a gastronomic destination, where one can discover the flavor of local products. Agritorismos, bars, and renowned restaurants abound in which one experiences dishes of unique style and unforgettable aroma.
Home made pasta, ham, cheeses, wild boar, truffles and olive oil from first pressing are the ingredients of some of the special dishes that you can taste, accompanied by local wines, among them the Sagrantino of Montefalco.
The fascination of Umbria with its panoramas, its cities, and its places of art, together with the hospitality Caterina and Gabriele offer you will render this a memorable holiday. A final secret tip: Ask to be shown Gabriele’s wine cellar and enjoy the delicious wines of the region
